Justin Nozuka - Holly

June 23rd, 2008

I just bought Justin Nozuka’s debut album Holly. I can’t take my iPod off repeat. I rarely find an album where I like songs on the first listen, but I found several tracks that I enjoyed instantly. His music reminds me of a cross between Josh Clayton-Felt (of School of Fish - rest his soul) and James Morrison. It has a folk / blues feel that is instantly infectious. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, but I must admit this is one of the more catchy albums I’ve purchased this year. The most impressive thing about Justin is that he’s only 20 years old. I can’t wait to see what his music will sound like as he matures. Give this album a shot - you really can’t go wrong.

Here is a sample of one of the tracks called Criminal.

Literary ADHD

April 25th, 2008

I think I may have literary ADHD. I don’t seem to read one book at a time. Currently, I am juggling about five different books. I am reading Mac OS X Tiger : Missing Manual, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (both the old fashion way - real books), 21: Bringing Down the House, and A New Earth: Awakening Your Life’s Purpose (both audiobooks from Audible.com), and I have two others on my Kindle - And You Know You Should be Glad and Nerds: Who They are and Why We Need More of Them.

I recently finished Augusten Burroughs’ Running with Scissors: A Memoir, which was another Audible.com book. I’ll write my review on that book in the next day or so. I’m hoping to reach my goal of reading / listening to 50 books this year. Lets see if this ADHD pays off.
